DSolo * Host


Whether you call it destiny or a calling,  D. Solo is drawn to the music Industry.  A native of Corpus Christi, TX , DSolo has been involved with music most of his life. "My mother would take me to Gonzales, TX every summer, I would love to go because my Uncle had a band and he often let me sing and dance with the band."  He started his career in 1992 as an on air jock at KBXX 97.9 the box, with a #1 weekend show in the city.  In 1993 DSolo made the leap into TV by joining the Gaylord Entertainment family as the new Host of  a kids show "The Disney Afternoon" with DSolo which premiered September 1993 on Gaylord Entertainment 39.  In November 1993 he launched his hit show "Street Flava" which released as a series with The Gaylord Entertainment Network.  He would later relaunch Street Flava on a new network (Houston's PBS Channel 8) in 1998.  Two years later Street Flava was voted best locally produced show in Houston 2000 & 2001.  Street Flava is currently Broadcasted on the FOX affiliate KTXH MY20 network since 2005 and has consistently been one of the highest rated weekend late-night fringe programs in its market.

 

D. Solo is also a national voice talent for the biggest record labels in the business including: Arista Records, Bad Boy Records , Columbia Records, Def Jam Records, MCA Records, Universal Records, and Virgin Records. 

 

D. Solo gives motivational speeches to local elementary, junior high and high schools. Presently he is still the on air host and executive producer of "Street Flava" video show.  DSolo actually reveals that from the age of five or six, he knew MUSIC would be his true love, MUSIC has been the central theme in the life of DSolo. D.Solo was for as long as he can remember and now, some twenty-odd years later, this multi-talented producer, director, editor, and host is fulfilling his childhood dreams and ambitions.

 

D. SOLO is Houston's authority on Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap and Reggae music. "Street Flava" music video show has seen some of music's biggest acts such as Destiny's Child, Jay Z, Kanye West, Trey Songz, John Legend, Ciara, LL Cool J, Beyonce, and local rap phenom Kirko Bangz.  If an artist visits Houston, chances are that you will see them on a future episode of "Street Flava".  Street Flava is the forefront for what the music business is doing out of Houston.
